SIRENS SITER
SIN: What is the latest news on Siren's Sister as of late?
Zach: Well, I narrowly avoided jail time by working 2 jobs to pay off the I.R.S, Leif is married, Ben and his wife are pregnant, Levi is practicing all the time and we just added Amy Rockwell to the mix for backup vocals and other such necessities. We still need a keyboardist, but Tod has promised to devote himself until his shoes are filled. Our new album is in the mixing stage and it promises to be a thrilling tryst of sound and texture.
SIN: I know you mentioned to me that you were planning to go back in early September. Is there anything you did this time around that is noticably different or particular than Echoes from the Ocean Floor?
Zach: Yeah, I think the first noticeable difference would be in the lyrical and musical concepts. Here things are a bit less metaphysical in subject and way more personal and reflective. Also, the over all theme on this record is one of complete abandonment and desolation, where love was a prominent foce on echoes.
PROTEST THE HERO
SIN:My first question is what the hell is up with the monkeys?
Rody: We didn't have any video ideas, so we just created one that was completely non-sensuous. It was actually the director's idea and when he brought it to us, we just thought that was fucking awesome. But it was a very awkward day for us and I never want to relive it again.
SIN: I bet it got really hot in those costumes...
Rody: Yeah, they each weighed somewhere around 20 to 30 pounds, definitely uncomfortable, and very hard to get out of. I wore that face piece for about 2 days after because it just wouldn't come off. It sucked.
